by Carol Ryrie Brink is about two sisters. When the ship that they are on starts to sink, the two sisters climb into an lifeboat. Four little children, two or three and below end up on the lifeboat with the two girls. If you read Baby Island, you will find out what happens next, plus the adventures that the sisters have.

Snow Treasure
by Marie McSwigan takes place during World War Two. This story is about some Norwegian children who smuggle gold, on their sleds, to a ship. It is a very exciting story. I could read it again and again and again without getting tired of reading it.
The book is available from Recorded Books Classics in audio format. I could also listen to it again and again and again.

Twenty and Ten
by Claire Huchet Bishop takes place during World War II. For twenty children at an orphanage, hiding ten Jewish children from the Nazis "seems like a game." But one day the real Nazis come. But in the end everything turns out alright.

White Bird
by Clyde Robert Bulla is about a boy who is named John Thomas who catches a white crow. There is an older boy named Luke who takes care of John Thomas. One day John Thomas tells Luke about "White Bird." When Luke hears about "White Bird" he tells John Thomas to put "White Bird" back in the forest where it belongs. John Thomas doesn't, so Luke sells "White Bird" to a man and a boy who are passing by. When John Thomas finds this out, he runs away.

by Carlo Collodi is a very good book. It is about a puppet who wants nothing more than to become a real boy. Before he can be come a real boy he has to be very good. If he tells a lie his nose grows an inch long. If he tells another lie his nose grows another inch long etc. If he tells the truth after he has told one lie his nose grows back to it's normal size.
