Rilla of Ingleside

by L. M. Montgomery is the last book in the "Anne of Green Gables" series. I really enjoyed it; however, be sure to read Rainbow Valley (book 7), first, as the authour has various characters refer to events that took place in Rainbow Valley. The reason that I read Rilla of Ingleside first was because in one of my family's Anne of Green Gables books, Rainbow Valley is listed last.

by Eric P. Kelly. The Trumpeter of Krakow is a GREAT book which takes place in Poland during the 15th Century. If anyone out there is at all like me, you'll want to read this book over and over again.

by Hilda Van Stockum, is a book that takes place during World War II in Holland. This book is about a boy named Joris, Joris' brother, Dirk Jan, their mother and father, and Joris' dog, Freya. The Winged Watchman is a very good book.

Homer Price

by Robert McCloskey. Homer Price is an excellent book about a boy and his pet skunk,[the skunk is not deoderized]. Usually when I read this book, I laugh. If you want to find out more about Homer Price after reading this book, read Centerburg Tales.

Wren

by Marie Killilea. This book Wren, is about a handicapped girl who, with the help of her family and friends learns how to walk with crutches, and hold her breath under water. This book would make a wonderful read-aloud.

by Helen Keller is a truly great book. It is a story of great courage on Helen's part. This book would make a very good read-aloud.

Snow Treasure

by Marie McSwigan takes place during World War Two. This story is about some Norwegian children who smuggle gold, on their sleds, to a ship. It is a very exciting story. I could read it again and again and again without getting tired of reading it.

The book is available from Recorded Books Classics in audio format. I could also listen to it again and again and again.
