Men of Iron

by Howard Pyle. This is a very exciting book which takes place in France. You will enjoy reading about Myles Falworth as he strives to become a knight and avenge his father (the blind lord), an unjustly outlawed knight.

Saint Margaret Mary

by Mary Fabyan Windeatt is a really good biography about St. Margaret Mary Alacoque; the Visitation nun who saw and heard Our Lord many times. Even when she wasn't believed by many, she did not get upset that she wasn't believed. (She was dissapointed though.) St. Margaret can teach us many virtues, especially the three following: faith, patience, and humility. This book would make a great read-aloud for a Catholic family.

Pancakes Paris

by Claire Huchet Bishop is a good book about a boy who receives a box of pancakes from some American soldiers. Charles wants to make pancakes for his mother and little sister on Mardi Gras, but the instructions are English, not French. When you read this exciting book you will find how the directions were translated for Charles, and the surprise that Charles and his family receive on Mardi Gras. I really enjoyed this book.

by Claire Huchet Bishop takes place during World War II. For twenty children at an orphanage, hiding ten Jewish children from the Nazis "seems like a game." But one day the real Nazis come. But in the end everything turns out alright.
P.S If anyone has seen the movie, Miracle at Moreaux, they will want to read this book, because this movie is based on the book, Twenty and Ten.
